AN ORDINANCE
To amend the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910.

MOTOR OMNIBUS SERVICES (AMENDMENT)
ORDINANCE 1977
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor Omnibus Services

2. In this Ordinance, " Principal Ordinance" means the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.f
3. (1) Section 4CA of the Principal Ordinance is amended— (a) by omitting from sub-section (2) the words ", other than

books of tickets referred to in sub-section (3 ) , " ;
(b) by omitting sub-section ( 3 ) ;
(c)
by omitting from sub-section (4) the words ", other than a book of tickets referred to in sub-section (3 ) , " ; and
(d) by omitting sub-sections ( 5 ) , (6) and ( 7 ) .
(2 ) A school student who purchased, or is deemed for the purposes of the Principal Ordinance to have purchased, a book of tickets at a concessional price in accordance with sub-section 4CA (3) of that Ordinance is, on tendering to the driver or conductor of an omnibus a ticket taken from that book of tickets, entitled to travel on that omnibus in the course of travelling from his home to the school at which he is a student or from that school to his home.

(3) A person is not, except in accordance with sub-section ( 2 ) , entitled to travel on an omnibus on tendering to the driver or conductor of that omnibus a ticket referred to in that sub-section.
(4) A person who, for the purpose of avoiding payment of the fare for a journey on an omnibus, tenders to the driver or conductor of an omnibus a ticket referred to in sub-section ( 2 ) , except in respect of a journey from his home to a school at which he is a student or from that school to his home, is guilty of an offence against this Ordinance and, on conviction, is punishable by a fine not exceeding $50.
(5) In this section, "school student" and " o m n i b u s " have the
same meanings as in the Principal Ordinance.
4. Section 4cc of the Principal Ordinance is amended—
(a)
by omitting paragraphs (b) and (c) of sub-section (2) and substituting the following word and paragraph:—
" or (b) term tickets,";
(b)
by omitting from sub-section (2) the words " or books of tickets " (wherever occurring); and
(c)
by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-section (3) the words ", a term ticket or a book of tickets at a concessional price in accordance with sub-section 4CA (3) " and sub stituting the words " or a term ticket ".
5. The Principal Ordinance is amended as set out in the following
