AN ORDINANCE

To amend the Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Services
Ordinance 1955-1972.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby make the following Ordinance under

the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910-1972.

MOTOR OMNIBUS SERVICES ORDINANCE 1973

1. (1 ) This Ordinance may be cited as the Motor Omnibus Services

Ordinance 1973.*

(2) The Commonwealth Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance

1955-1972f is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3 ) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may

be cited as the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955-1973.

2. The title to the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting the words " Relating to Commonwealth" and substituting the words " Relating to ".

3.   Section 2 of the Principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by omitting from the definition of " Commonwealth omni­

bus service " the word " Commonwealth ";

(b) by omitting from the definition of " motor omnibus " the

word " Commonwealth "; and

(c) by omitting the definition of " the Minister ".

4. After section 3 of the Principal Ordinance the following section

is inserted:—

" 3A. The Minister may, by notice published in the Gazette, declare

that—

(a)

no fare is payable in respect of a journey on a route or part of a route specified in the notice; and

(b)

no fare is payable in respect of a journey, on a route or part of a route specified in the notice, made on the day or days, or during the period, specified in the notice during the times (if any) specified in die notice.".

5. The Principal Ordinance is amended as set out in the Schedule

to this Ordinance.
