Motor Omnibus Fares Regulations
(Amendment)
I, GORDON GLEN DENTON SCHOLES, the Minister of State for Territories, hereby make the following Regulations under the Motor Omnibus Services Ordinance 1955.

Commencement
1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 September 1985.
Principal Regulations
2. In these Regulations, "Principal Regulations" means the Motor
Omnibus Fares Regulations.
Interpretation
3. Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the
definition of "peak-period journey" and substituting the following definition:
" 'peak-period journey' means—
(a) a journey commencing not later than 9 a.m. on a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday; or (b) a journey commencing at 4.30 p.m. or after 4.30 p.m. but not later than 6 p.m. on a day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday;".

4. Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is repealed and the following
regulations substituted:
Children's and students' fares
"5. Subject to these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey by a child, a school student, a tertiary student, an immigrant student or a student nurse is the amount calculated by multiplying—
| (a) | in the case of a peak-period journey—40 cents; and |
(b) in any other case—30 cents,
722 Motor Omnibus Fares 1985 No. 22 City journeys "5A. (1) Subject to regulation 9, but notwithstanding any other provision of these Regulations, the fare to be charged in respect of a journey where the omnibus follows a route contained wholly within the City is 20 cents.
"(2) In sub-regulation (1), 'City' means the division of the Canberra Central district given the name 'City' pursuant to sub-section 6 (5) of the Districts Ordinance 1966".

5. The Principal Regulations are amended as set out in the Schedule.
