a	1. Objectives

d	The objectives of these Regulations are to amend
n	the Motor Car Traders Regulations 1998 to—
a	(a) prescribe further particulars for the purposes
n	of sections 8 and 20 of the Motor Car
o
ti	Traders Act 1986; and
la	(b) prescribe new offences for which a penalty
is	notice can be issued; and
g	(c) revoke regulations prescribing forms which
e	are no longer required.

2. Authorising provision

n

a	These Regulations are made under section 90 of
ri	the Motor Car Traders Act 1986.
to	3. Commencement
ic	These Regulations come into operation on
V	1 November 2003.

4. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Motor Car Traders

Regulations 1998 are called the Principal

n	Regulations.
e	5. New regulation 7 substituted

u	For regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations
c	substitute—
o	"7. Particulars for application for licence

For the purposes of section 8(5)(g) of the

ry	Act, the prescribed matters are—
ta	(a) the telephone numbers of any premises
n	from which a motor car trading
e	business is to be conducted; and
m
ia	(b) if the applicant is a corporation, the
rl	date of appointment of each director;
a	and

P	(c)	if the applicant is a partnership, the date
d	each member of the partnership became
n	a partner.".

a	6. Form of licence
n
o	Regulation 8 and Form 4 of the Principal
ti	Regulations are revoked.
la	7. New regulation 14 substituted
is	For regulation 14 of the Principal Regulations

L	"14. Claims against Fund
n	The form required by these Regulations for

ri	the purposes of section 76(3) is Form 9.".

9.  Form and particulars in the register of the Authority

ts	Regulation 16 and Form 11 of the Principal
n	Regulations are revoked.
e	10. Prescribed changes in relation to licensee

u	For regulation 20(b) of the Principal Regulations
c	substitute—
o	"(b) a licensee commences carrying on business
D	as a motor car trader under a name or names
ry	in addition to or in substitution for the name
ta	of the licensee;
n	(c) a licensee changes the business address or
e	telephone number of any premises from
m	which a motor car trading business is
ia
rl
conducted;

(d) a licensee changes the address of any

a	Internet site maintained by the licensee for
P	the purpose of the motor car trading
d	business.".
n	11. Secrecy

n	Regulation 31 of the Principal Regulations is

revoked.

12. Infringement notices

is	In the Table in regulation 32(2) of the Principal
