An Act to amend the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Act 1973

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Amendment (Reinsurance Powers) Act 1999 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Motor Accidents (Liabilities and Compensation) Act 1973 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 5 substituted Section 5 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is substituted: 5Power of Board to reinsure The Board may enter into contracts or arrangements for the reinsurance of its liabilities under this Act.
