His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999.

Explanatory note

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Motor Accidents Compensation Regulation (No 2) 1999 so as to effect law revision by correcting a typographical error in relation to costs for legal services.

This Regulation is made under the Motor Accidents Compensation Act 1999, including Chapter 6 (Costs) and section 228 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Motor Accidents Compensation (No 2)

Amendment Regulation 2000.

2 Amendment of Motor Accidents Compensation Regulation (No 2) 1999

The Motor Accidents Compensation Regulation (No 2) 1999 is amended by omitting from paragraph (b) in Column 2 of Table B to clause 1 of Schedule 1 (Maximum costs for legal services) the matter “$2,000” and by inserting instead the matter “$20,000”.
