An Act to amend the Motor Accidents Act 1988 with respect to the number of part-time directors of the Board of Directors of the Motor Accidents Authority. [Assented to 4 November 1997]
Section 1 Motor Accidents Amendment (Board of Directors) Act 1997 No 91 The Legislature of New South Wales enacts:
1 Name of Act
This Act is the Motor Accidents Amendment (Board of Directors)
Act 1997.
2 Commencement
This Act commences on a day to be appointed by proclamation.
3 Amendment of Motor Accidents Act 1988 No 102
The Motor Accidents Act 1988 is amended as set out in
Schedule 1 .

(Section 3)
[1] Section 84 Constitution of Board of Directors
Omit section 84 (2) (b). Insert instead:
(b) not less than 7 and not more than 10 part-time directors appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of the Minister.
[2] Section 84 (2A)
Omit “7”.
[3] Schedule 2 Constitution and procedure of the Board of Directors of the Authority
Omit clause 13. Insert instead:
13 Quorum
The quorum for a meeting of the Board is a majority of directors for the time being.
[4] Schedule 4 Savings, transitional and other provisions
Insert after Part 8:

23 Constitution of Board of Directors
The amendments to section 84 made by the Motor
Accidents Amendment (Board of Directors) Act 1997 do
Motor Accidents Amendment (Board of Directors) Act 1997 No 91
Schedule 1 Amendments not affect the appointment or term of office of a person who held office as a part-time director of the Board of Directors of the Authority immediately before the amendments took effect.
