I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in

pursuance of section 2 of the Motor Accidents (Amendment) Act 1993, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 January 1994 as the day on which that Act (except Schedule 1 (13)–(15)) commences.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Proclamation is to commence the provisions of the Motor Accidents (Amendment) Act 1993 other than the amendments which enable an award of damages to include compensation for providing certain home care services and respite care, and which specify the period of impairment that must exist before damages for non-economic loss can be awarded.
