Commencement Proclamation

under the

Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017 No 10

DAVID HURLEY, Governor

I, General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales, with
the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 1.2 of the Motor Accident Injuries
Act 2017, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 8 September 2017 as the day on which the

following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Part 1,
(b) Divisions 2.3, 9.1, 9.2 and 10.2,
(c) section 11.12,
(d) Schedule 4 (other than clause 2).

Explanatory note
The object of this Proclamation is to commence provisions of the Motor Accident Injuries Act 2017 relating
to premiums for third-party policies (including the determination, filing and adjustment of premiums), the
licensing and supervision of insurers and the making of guidelines for the purposes of the Act. Certain
machinery and savings and transitional provisions are also commenced.
