Assembly p u r s u a n t to t h e said A c t : A n d whereas on t h e twenty-fifth day of J u n e , in t h e year one t housand e ight h u n d r e d and ninety , t he said Assembly by resolut ion declared i t is expedient " tha t a l ine of ra i lway from Molong to P a r k e s and Porbes as referred by t h e Legisla t ive Assembly to t he P a r l i a m e n t a r y S tanding Commit tee on Publ ic W o r k s be carr ied out , wi th such of t h e modifications r ecommended by t h e said Commit tee as th i s House m a y hereaf ter de t e rmine" : A n d t h e
said resolut ion was notified, in t h e Gazette on the twen ty-seven th day
of J u n e , in t h e said year : Be i t therefore enacted by the Queen ' s
Most Exce l l en t Majesty , b y and w i t h t h e advice and consent of t h e
Legislat ive Counci l and Legis la t ive Assembly of N e w South W a l e s in
P a r l i a m e n t assembled, and by the au thor i ty of t h e same, as follows :— 1. This A c t may be cited as t he " Molong to Pa rkes and Porbes
Rai lway A c t of 1890," ' and shal l bo read wi th t he " Pub l i c W o r k s A c t
of 1 8 8 8 . " 2. The Pub l i c W o r k s more pa r t i cu la r ly described in t he Schedule
to th is A c t shall be ea rned out by t he Secretary for Pub l i c W o r k s , or
t h e M e m b e r of t h e Execu t ive Council for t h e t i m e be ing charged w i t h
t h e dut ies of t h e said Minis ter . A n d such Minis te r or M e m b e r shal l for t h e purposes of th is Act and t h e " P u b l i c W o r k s Ac t of 1 8 8 8 " be deemed and t aken to be t he " C o n s t r u c t i n g A u t h o r i t y " author ized to en te r in to contracts , and to exercise all powers, do all Ac ts and th ings , and be responsible in respect of all obligations and liabilities which can be done or incur red by a " C o n s t r u c t i n g A u t h o r i t y " u n d e r or
p u r s u a n t to th is A c t or t h e said Pub l i c W o r k s Act , so far as m a y be
necessary for t he ca r ry ing out of t he work hereby sanct ioned. The P l a n of such W o r k hereinafter referred to , is t he P l a n marked " Molong to Pa rkes and Forbes Rai lway," signed by the Secretary for P u b l i c W o r k s , and counters igned by the A c t i n g Engineer- in-Chief for
Rai lways , and deposited in t h e office of t h e said Secretary for Pub l i c Works .
3. The cost of car ry ing out t h e work hereby sanctioned,
es t imated a t the s u m of th ree h u n d r e d a n d ninety-seven thousand four h u n d r e d a n d t en pounds , shall be defrayed from such Loan Votes as a re now or m a y hereafter be applicable there to .
S C H E D U L E .
Line of Railway from Molong to Parkes and Forties.
This line commences a t Molong Stat ion, a t two h u n d r e d and th i r t een miles
seventy-eight chains eighty-five l inks from S y d n e y ; thence i t sweeps round t h e n o r t h end of t h e high land on which t he t own s tands ; thence south-wester ly , crossing Mandage ry Creek a t about two h u n d r e d and twenty-e ight miles, pas t t he village of Man i ld ra ; t hence following a genera l wester ly direct ion to the town of Parkes ; thence in a n almost due souther ly di rect ion to t he town of Forbes, as shown on plan here in before referred to , and subject to such deviations and modifications of route as may be
considered desirable by t he Cons t ruc t ing Author i ty .
