Act No. 10, 1984.

An Act to amend certain Acts to vary provisions that allow certain persons to
continue to contribute to the State Superannuation Fund after ceasing

to be employees within the meaning of the Superannuation Act, 1916.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title.

1. This Act may be cited as the "Miscellaneous Acts (State

Superannuation Fund) Amendment Act, 1984".

Amendments.

1. Each Act specified in Schedule 1 is amended in the manner specified

in that Schedule in relation to that Act.

(Sec. 2.)

AMENDMENTS.

Meat Industry Act, 1978, No. 54—

(1) Section 55 (5) —

Omit "The provisions", insert instead "Except as provided by subsection ( 5 A ) ,

the provisions".

(2) Section 55 (5A) —

After section 55 (5) , insert:—

( 5 A ) In the application, pursuant to subsection (5) , of the provisions of clause 14 of Schedule 3 to and in respect of a person who becomes an officer or employee of the Corporation on or after the commencement of the Miscellaneous Acts (State Superannuation Fund) Amendment Act, 1984, "superannuation scheme" shall not include the State Superannuation Fund.

New South Wales Film Corporation Act, 1977, No. 55—

Schedule 3, clause 1 (1) , definition of "superannuation scheme"—

After "Act", insert "but, in relation to a person who is appointed as an employee under section 8 on or after the commencement of the Miscellaneous Acts (State Superannuation Fund) Amendment Act, 1984, does not include the State Superannuation Fund".

Totalizator (Off-course Betting) Act, 1964, No. 1—
(1) (a) Section 9 (2) (a) —

Before "as an employee", insert ", in the cas£ of a person who so transfers on or before the commencement of the Miscellaneous Acts (State Superannuation Fund) Amendment Act, 1984,".

(b) Section 9 (2) (a) —

Before "an employee" where secondly occurring, insert ", in the case of a person who so transfers on or before that commencement,".

(2) Section 9 (2) ( c ) —

After "service of the Board", insert "who continues to contribute to the State

Superannuation Fund as referred to in paragraph (a)" .

Transport Authorities Act, 1980, No. 103—

Section 53 ( 1 ) —

After "Act", insert "but, in relation to a person who becomes an officer of an Authority on or after the commencement of the Miscellaneous Acts (State

Section 15 (1A) —

After section 15 ( l ) , insert:—

(1A) In subsection ( l ) , "fund or account" does not, in relation to a person who is appointed as a servant of the Authority on or after the commencement of the Miscellaneous Acts (State Superannuation Fund) Amendment Act, 1984, include the State Superannuation Fund.
