An
Act relating to the Salaries and Allowances of the Ministers of State.
[Assented
to 30th October, 1964.]
BE it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent
Majesty, the Senate, and the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Ministers of State Act (No. 2) 1964.
(2.) The Ministers
of State Act 1952-1959, as amended by the Ministers of State Act 1964, is in this Act referred to as the
Principal Act.
(3.) Section one of the Ministers of State Act 1964 is amended by omitting sub-section
(3.).
(4.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act,
may be cited as the Ministers of State
Act 1952-1964.
Commencement.
2.This
Act shall come into operation on the first day of November, One thousand nine
hundred and sixty-four.
Salaries
of Ministers.
3.Section
five of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “Seventy-three
thousand three hundred and fifty” and inserting in their stead the words “Ninety-five
thousand six hundred and fifty”.
Additional
allowance to Prime Minister.
4.Section
six of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “Three thousand five
hundred” and inserting in their stead the words “Four thousand”.
Additional
allowances to Ministers.
5. Section
seven of the Principal Act is amended—
(a)
by omitting from sub-section (1.) the words “One thousand five hundred” and
inserting in their stead the words “One thousand eight hundred”; and
