An
Act relating to the Salaries and Allowances of the Ministers of State.

to 29 November 1968]
BE
it enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, the Senate, and the House of
Representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, as follows:—
Short
title and citation.
1.—(1.) This Act may be cited as the Ministers of State Act 1968.
(2.) The Ministers
of State Act 1952–1967 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act.
(3.) The Principal Act, as amended by this Act, may
be cited as the Ministers of State Act 1952–1968.
Commencement.
2.This Act shall come into
operation on the first day of December, One thousand nine hundred and
sixty-eight.
Salaries
of Ministers.
3.Section 5 of the
Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “One hundred and ninety-seven
thousand, three hundred” and inserting in their stead the words “Two hundred
and forty-five thousand, five hundred”.
Additional
allowance to Prime Minister.
4.Section 6 of the
Principal Act is amended by omitting the words “Eight thousand” and inserting
in their stead the words “Ten thousand three hundred”.
Additional
allowances to Ministers.
5.Section 7 of the Principal
Act is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-section (1.) the
words “Three thousand six hundred” and inserting in their stead the words “Four
thousand six hundred”; and
(b) by omitting from sub-section (2.) the
words “Three thousand” and inserting in their stead the words “Four thousand”.
