MINING LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1996 No 137—

PROCLAMATION

(L.S.) GORDON SAMUELS, Governor.

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Mining Legislation Amendment Act 1996, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 July 1997 as the day on which the following provisions of that Act commence:

(a) Schedule 1 [15], [16], [17], [18] and [19],
(b) Schedule 2.2 [2],
(c) Schedule 2.6 [2],
(d) Schedule 2.7 [2], [3], [4], [5] and [8].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Proclamation commences the uncommenced provisions of the Mining Legislation Amendment Act 1996. Those provisions deal with fees. Following the commencement of those provisions, fees under the Mining Act 1992 are to be determined by the Minister administering that Act rather than, as has previously been the case, by the regulations under that Act.
