AN ACT to amend the Mining Act, 1904-1961.

[Assented to 23rd December, 1963.]

RE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the

same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Mining Act Elargiattlieon

Amendment Act, 1963.

In this Act the Mining Act, 1904-1961, is printed Acts

S. 50 am.

2.

Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section fifty of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the passage, "forty-eight acres", the passage, "three hundred acres".

S. 87 am.

3.    Section eighty-seven of the principal Act is

amended

(a)

by adding after the word, "acres" in line three of subsection (1), the words, "in the case of gold mining leases and does not exceed six hundred acres in the case of mineral leases"; and

(b)

by deleting the passage, ", or ninety chains in the case of a mineral lease" in lines five and six of subsection (2).

4. Section eighty-eight of the principal Act is

amended

(a)

by adding after the word, "of" in line two of subsection (1) the words, "gold mining"; and

(b)

by deleting the passage, ", or ninety chains in the case of a mineral lease" in lines four and five of subsection (3).

5. Section two hundred and ninety-one of the principal Act is amended by adding after the word, "holding," being the last word in the section, the passage, "without the authority, in writing, of the Minister first obtained and any such authority granted may be revoked by the Minister at any time".
