An Act to amend the Mining Act of 1874 by making provision for the issue of regula- tions for the prevention of lead-poisoning or poisoning by any other fumes in con- ducting mining operations. [30th April, 1894.] '
T~)E it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and J J with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :—•

1. The Governor may make and issue regulations, to be in force in all the mining districts of the Colony or in any district or division thereof, or within any gold-field, for the prevention of lead- poisoning, or poisoning by lead or any other fumes, in conducting mining operations for any metal or mineral; and may in those; regulations impose a penalty not exceeding twenty pounds for any infringement of the same, and in the case of a continuing infringement not exceeding five pounds for each day of the continuance thereof.

The provisions of the Mining Act, 1874-, with reference to the making of regulations by the Governor, their enforcement, and the proceedings for the recovery of penalties imposed by them, shall apply to regulations made and penalties incurred under the authority of this Act.

2. This Act shall be construed as one with the Mining Act, 1871.
