BE tralia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council

and House of Assembly of the said province, in this present Parliq*

mcnt assembled, as follows:

1, This Act may be cited as '' The Mining Act Amendment Act, short title.

Any person who shall at the date of the coming into operation Holders of lands on

upon which any salt lake is situated, shall have a preferential right to a lease under Part III., Division V11. of " The Mining Act, 1893," of any portion of such lands not exceeding in area the amount prescribed by the regulations under the said Act, for the purpose of obtainbig salt, such right to be exercised within two monthsfrom the giving of a notice to such person from the Minister requiring such person to exercise such preferential right.

3. Everything heretofore assumed to be done in relation to any Va~dity

1893," and in respect of any lands which had not at the time but have since been proclaimed mineral lands, shall be valid as if such

lands had at such time been proclaimed mineral lands.
