MINES RESCUE ACT 1925—REGULATION

(Relating to repeal of various requirements of the Mines Rescue Regulations

1925)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Mines Rescue Act 1925, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Mines Rescue Regulations 1925 are amended:

(a) by omitting Regulations 28, 28B, 30–45, 48, 54EE and 54FF;

(b) by omitting Schedules 9 and 10.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to amend the Mines Rescue Regulations 1925 by

omitting provisions relating to:

(a) duties of superintendents, assistant superintendents and instructors; and

(b)

training of personnel and maintenance of training records and rules applicable to persons employed in rescue operations; and

(c)

tests for breathing apparatus, the code of signs to be adopted on plans and the code of signals to be used in rescue operations; and

(d)

provision and fitting out of central rescue stations and provision of accommodation for rescue personnel; and

(e) provision and fitting out of mine rescue cars; and
(f) rescue and first aid rooms at mines; and
(g) accessories to be kept at mines; and
(h) first aid certificates; and

(i)   contributions payable by collieries to the Central Mines Rescue Fund for
