MINES RESCUE ACT 1925—REGULATION
(Relating to contributions to Central Mines Rescue Fund)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Mines Rescue Act 1925, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Mines Rescue Regulation 1991 is amended:
| (a) | by omitting clause 38 (1) and by inserting instead the following subclauses: |
(1) For the purposes of section 6 (2) of the Act, in respect of the year referred to in the heading to Schedule 2, the sum payable to the Board by the proprietor of a colliery holding specified in that Schedule is the amount calculated by applying the levy rate specified in that Schedule in respect of the colliery holding (being a rate that is expressed in cents per dollar) to the land value of the colliery holding.
(1A) Without limiting the generality of section 30 of the Interpretation Act 1987, the amendment of Schedule 2 (as in force before the commencement of this subclause) does not affect any liability of the proprietor of a colliery holding to pay to the Board any sum that remains payable in respect of 1991 at the levy rate specified in that Schedule before that commencement.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to amend the Mines Rescue Regulation 1991 to specify the contributions payable for 1992 by the proprietors of colliery holdings to the Central Mines Rescue Fund as a contribution towards the erection, equipment, maintenance and administration of rescue stations.
