Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation
1. These regulations may be cited as the Mines Regulation Amendment
Regulations 1993.
Regulations 1.7 and 1.7A inserted
2. After regulation 1.6 of the Mines Regulation Act Regulations 1976* the
following regulations are inserted —
Exemption where substantial compliance
unnecessary or impracticable. 1.7 (1) Where a person or mine does not fully comply with a requirement of these regulations but the State mining engineer is satisfied that there is substantial compliance, he may in writing, exempt the person or mine from the requirement, subject to such terms and conditions as he specifies.
Where the State mining engineer imposes a condition in relation to an exemption granted under subregulation (1), a person having the benefit of the exemption shall not contravene the condition.
(2)
An exemption granted by the State mining engineer under this regulation may be revoked by him at any time.
(3)
Exemption where compliance unnecessary or
impracticable1.7A (1) The State mining engineer may by a certificate under his hand grant either absolutely or subject to conditions, exemption from compliance with a requirement of these regulations where he is satisfied that compliance would be

(2)
