PART 1.- PRELIMINARY. 1. This Act may be cited as " The Mines Regulation Short title. Acts and Anothe'f Act Amendment Act of 1945.'1 2. This Act shall come into force on a date to be Commenoe~ proclaimed by the Governor in Council by Proclamation ~ e: t of published in the Gazette. c. 3. This Act is divided into Parts, as follows :- PART I.-PRELIMINARY; Parts 0 Aot. The Principal Act and the amendments made to it by this Part may collectively be cited as "The Mines Regulation Acts, 19lO to 1945." Amendments of the 5. (1.) Section 5A of the Principal Act is amended Principal as follows : - Act. (a) In the first paragraph the words" within any part of the State other than the City of Brisbane" are repealed and the following words are inserted in lieu thereof, namely :-" and to any workings such as a shaft~ drive, trench, hole or excavation being sunk or made for the purpose of repairing sewers and where the ultimate depth of such workings shall not be less than seven feet" . (b) In the first paragraph after the word " sewers" where it secondly and thirdly occurs the words" and/or workings" are respectively inserted. (c) The following paragraph is added to the said section, namely :-" For the purposes of the second, third, and fourth paragraphs of this section the term " sewers" or " sewer" shall also include any workings referred to in the first paragraph of the said section." Operation of amend- ments. (2.) (1.) This Part shall be read as one with *" The Construction Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Acts, 1909 to of Part. 1924" (as amended by any Orders in Council or Ordinances issued pursuant to t" The City of Brisbane Acts, 1924 to 1944,") which Acts so amended are herein referred to as the Principal Act.
