AN ACT to amend the Mines Regulation

Act, 1946-1956.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

5. Section forty-five of the principal Act is

amended

(a)

by adding after the section number, "45", the subsection designation, "(1)";

(b)

by adding before the word, "Permits" in line sixteen, the subsection designation, "(2)";

(c)

by adding after the word, "with" in line

sixteen, the passage, "subsection (1) of";

and

(d)

by adding after the word, "issued", being the last word in the section, the following subsections:

(3) The Minister, on being satisfied that the employment of labour on Sunday in or about any mine in the Yampi Sound area in the State . is necessary for the efficient conduct of mining operations in or about the mine, may authorise in writing such employment.

(4) An authority granted under sub- section (3) of this section shall state the number of workmen that may be employed on a Sunday, the nature of their employment and the period for which the authority shall extend.

by substituting for the passage, "12 H.P." in line two, the words, "twenty horse power"; and
