I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Mines Inspection Amendment Act 1998, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 30 July 1999 as the day on which that Act commences, with the exception of Schedule 1 [20] to that Act in so far as it inserts section 18B in the Mines Inspection Act 1901.

Explanatory note

The object of this Proclamation is to commence all of the provisions of the Mines Inspection Amendment Act 1998 except so much of Schedule 1 [20] to that Act as inserts section 18B in the Mines Inspection Act 1901. That section deals with the maintenance of competencies by certain production managers.
