s1 2 s4 Mineral Resources Amendment (No. 7) No. 326, 1996 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Mineral Resources Amendment Regulation (No. 7) 1996 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Mineral Resources Regulation 1990 . ˙ Amendment of s 21 (Use of machinery on mining claim land) 3. Section 21(2)— omit, insert— ‘ (2) The mechanical devices mentioned in subsection (1)(b) include— (a) windlasses, winches, shutes, feeders, pulsators, trommels, jack-picks, compressors, hoists, pumps, drills, elevators, shakers, vibrators, willoughbys, driers, separators, filters, classifiers and puddlers; and (b) eductor dredges with a maximum inlet nozzle diameter of 200 mm used on mining claims in the Mareeba mining district, if they are used— (i) in the Palmer river, Mitchell river or their tributaries; and (ii) when those streams are flowing.’. ˙ Amendment of s 22 (Prohibited machinery on mining claim land) 4. Section 22— insert— ‘ (3) Despite subsection (1), eductor dredges with a maximum inlet nozzle diameter of 200 mm may be used on mining claims in the Mareeba mining district, if they are used— (a) in the Palmer river, Mitchell river or their tributaries; and (b) when those streams are flowing.’.
