AN ACT to amend the Mine Workers' Relief Act,
1932-1943.
[Assented to 3rd November, 1953.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Mine Workers' and oltatloa.
Relief Act Amendment Act, 1953.
(2) In this Act the Mine Workers' Relief Act, 1932-1943,
Act No. 37 of 1932 as reprinted with amendments to and including Act No. 42 of 1934 incorporated in the Sessional Volume of the Acts of Parlia- ment of Western Australia for the year 1935 and further amended by Acts Nos. 22 of 1940 and 25 of 1943,
is referred to as the principal Act.
(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Mine Workers' Relief Act, 1932-1953.

| 2. Section five of the principal Act is amended | amended. |
by
| (a) | adding after the word "corporate" in line two of the interpretation "Employer" the words "or the Crown in right of the State"; |
| (b) | adding after the figure "1904" in line two of the interpretation "Mine and Mining" the words "and the term 'mine' includes a crushing battery used in connection with mining"; |
| (c) | adding after the word "worker" in line eight of the interpretation "Mine Worker" the words "a person employed upon or about a crushing battery in its operations of crushing and breaking ore and other materials for the purpose of the extraction of gold or other minerals from the ore or materials and a person employed in the treatment of sands and residues on the crushing battery". |
