Military Superannuation and Benefits Declaration

I, JOHN FAULKNER, Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, make the following Declaration under the Military Superannuation and Benefits Act 1991.

         Dated 13 June 1993.

Citation

               1.   This Declaration may be cited as the Military Superannuation and Benefits Declaration.

[NOTE:  This Declaration commences on gazettal: see Military Superannuation and Benefits Act 1991 s. 49 and Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48 as applied by s. 46A.]

Interpretation

               2.   In this Declaration, unless the contrary intention appears:

“Act” means the Military Superannuation and Benefits Act 1991.

Eligible members

               3.   For the purposes of paragraph (f) of the definition of “eligible member” in subsection 30 (1) of the Act, a person is an eligible member if he or she was or is a member of the Scheme and:

             (a)   was, between 1 October 1991 and 30 September 1992 (inclusive), included in an employment category specified in Part 1 of the Schedule; or

             (b)   on or after 1 October 1992 was or is included in an employment category specified in Part 2 of the Schedule.
