I, WARREN SNOWDON, Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, make this Determination under subsection 11 (1) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004.

1 Name of Determination
This Determination is the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation (Pay-related Allowances) Determination 2009 (No. 1).
Commencement
This Determination is taken to have commenced as follows:
(a) on 13 December 2007 — sections 1 and 2, subsection 3 (1) and the note and Part 1 of Schedule 1;
(b) on 4 June 2008 — subsection 3 (2) and Part 2 of Schedule 1;
(c) on 1 July 2008 — subsection 3 (3) and Part 3 of Schedule 1.
Pay-related allowances
(1) For subsection 11 (1) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004, the allowances specified in Part 1 of Schedule 1 are pay-related allowances for the purposes of that Act.
Note As required by subsection 11 (1) of the Act, the allowances are paid under determinations made under section 58H of the Defence Act 1903. The determinations that created the allowances are listed in Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Schedule 1 for information.
(2) For subsection 11 (1) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004, the allowances specified in Part 2 of Schedule 1 are pay-related allowances for the purposes of that Act.
(3) For subsection 11 (1) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004, the allowance specified in Part 3 of Schedule 1 is a pay-related allowance for the purposes of that Act.
