PROVISIONAL REGULATION UNDER THE “DEFENCE ACTS 1903-1904.”

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth ofAustralia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby certify that on account of urgency, the following Regulation under the Defence Acts 1903-1904 should come into immediate operation, and make the Regulation to come into operation forthwith as a Provisional Regulation.

Regulations for the Commonwealth Military Forces, 1905.

At end of para. 57 add—

An Officer appointed as 2nd Lieutenant will be required to complete a period of twelve months’ service in that rank, and may then, if he has passed the prescribed examinations, and is recommended by his Commanding Officer and the District Commandant, be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
