REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1966.*

THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the
advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations
under the Defence Act 1903-1966.

Amendments
of the Military Financial Regulations
Consolidated rates of pay—General Officers.
1. Regulation 11
of the Military Financial Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the
words “or dental officer”; and
(b)by omitting from
sub-regulation (5.) the words “Ten thousand six hundred and seventy-one
dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Eleven thousand six hundred
and fifty-seven dollars”.
Members other than General Officers.
2.—(1.) Regulation 12 of
the Military Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the table in
sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following table:—

3. Regulation 30
of the Military Financial Regulations is amended—
(a) by omitting the words “or dental officer”;
and
(b)by omitting the words
“Four hundred and eighty-eight dollars” and inserting in their stead the words
“Six hundred and seven dollars”.
Rates of pay for members other than senior
appointments.
4.—(1.) Regulation 190 of the Military Financial
Regulations is amended by omitting the table in sub-regulation (2.) and
inserting in its stead the following table:—

Application.
5.—(1.) The rate of pay
provided for in regulation 11 of the Military Financial Regulations as amended
by regulation 1 of these Regulations applies in respect of service of a
brigadier who is a medical officer on and after the seventh day of July, 1967.
(2.) The rates of pay provided for in the Military
Financial Regulations as amended by regulations 2 and 4 of these Regulations
apply in respect of service of a medical officer or dental officer on and after
the seventh day of July, 1967.
(3.)
The rate of allowance provided for in regulation 30 of the Military Financial
Regulations as amended by regulation 3 of these Regulations applies in respect
of service of a brigadier who is a medical officer on the twenty-third day of
December, 1966, or any subsequent day.
Additional pay for medical officer who is a
brigadier.
6. A male member
of the Permanent Military Forces, being a member who is a medical officer, who,
during the period or a part of the period from and including the twenty-third
day of December, 1966 to and including the sixth day of July, 1967, held the
rank of brigadier is, by virtue of this regulation, entitled to additional pay
in respect of that period or the part of that period at the rate of Nine
hundred and thirty-four dollars per year.
Additional pay for male medical officers or dental
officers of the Permanent Military Forces.
7. A
male member of the Permanent Military Forces, being a member who is a medical
officer or dental officer, who, during a period or a part of a period specified
in the second column of the following table in relation to a rank or a rank and
length of service in that rank specified in the first column of that table,
held that rank or held that rank and had that length of service in that rank
is, by virtue of this regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that
period or the part of that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the
pay paid or payable to him in respect of that period or the part of that period
under regulation 12 of the Military Financial Regulations is less than the
amount of pay that would have been payable to him if he had been entitled to be
paid at the rate of pay specified in the third column of that table opposite to
that period in the second column instead of at the appropriate rate of pay
specified in the table in sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 12 of the Military
Financial Regulations.

pay that would have been payable to her if she had been entitled to be paid at
the rate of pay specified in the third column of that table opposite to that

regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that period or the part of
that period of an amount equal to the amount by which the pay paid or payable
to him in respect of that period or the part of that period under regulation 90
of the Military Financial Regulations is less than the amount of pay that would
have been payable to him if he had been entitled to be paid at the rate of pay
specified in the third column of that table opposite to that period in the
second column instead of at the appropriate rate of pay specified in the table
in sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 190 of the Military Financial Regulations.
