REGULATIONS UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1966.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Defence Act 1903-1966.

Amendments of the Military Financial Regulations 

Parts.

1. Regulation 4 of the Military Financial Regulations is amended by omitting the words—

“Division 5.—Allowances for Special Qualifications and Duties (Regulations 30-40).”

and inserting in their stead the words—

“Division 5.—Allowances for Special Qualifications and Duties (Regulations 31-40).”.

Consolidated rates of pay—General Officers.

2.—(1.) Regulation 11 of the Military Financial Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (3.) the words “Twelve thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Fifteen thousand and eighteen dollars”; and

(b)by omitting from sub-regulation (4.) the words “Ten thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Twelve thousand six hundred and fifty-eight dollars”.

(2.) Regulation 11 of the Military Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from sub-regulation (5.) the words “Eleven thousand seven hundred and twenty-eight dollars” and inserting in their stead the words “Thirteen thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight dollars”.

Special allowance for Brigadier who is a medical officer.

3. Regulation 30 of the Military Financial Regulations is repealed.

4. Regulation 190 of the Military Financial Regulations is amended by omitting from the table in sub-regulation (1.) the words and figures—

Application.

5.—(1.) The rates of pay provided for in sub-regulations (3.) and (4.) of regulation 11 of the Military Financial Regulations as amended by sub-regulation (1.) of regulation 2 of these Regulations apply in relation to service of a Major-General or Brigadier, not being a Brigadier who is a medical officer, in the Permanent Military Forces on or after the twenty-second day of September, 1969.

(2.) The rates of pay provided for in sub-regulation (1.) of regulation 190 of the Military Financial Regulations as amended by regulation 4 of these Regulations apply in relation to service of a Major-General or Brigadier in the Citizen Military Forces on or after the twenty-second day of September, 1969.

(3.) A male member of the Permanent Military Forces who held the rank of Brigadier during the period from and including the twenty-second day of September, 1969, to and including the day immediately before the commencement of these Regulations or during a part of that period and who is a medical officer is, by virtue of this sub-regulation, entitled to additional pay in respect of that period or that part of that period, as the case may be, at the rate of One thousand five hundred and three dollars per year.
