(2.) Regulation 90 of the Military Financial Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (2.) and inserting in its stead the following sub-regulation:—
“(2.) Subject to this Division, the rate of travelling allowance payable to the Chief of the General Staff or to a Lieutenant-General appointed as Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, is Eight pounds ten shillings per day.”.

(3.) The rates of travelling allowance specified in sub-regulation (1.) of regulation 90 of the Military Financial Regulations, as amended by sub-regulation (1.) of this regulation, apply to travelling allowance paid or payable in acordance with that first mentioned sub-regulation in respect of the twenty-fifth day of June, 1963, or any subsequent day.
(4.) The rate of travelling allowance specified in sub-regulation (2.) of regulation 90 of the Military Financial Regulations, as amended by sub-regulation (2.) of this regulation, applies to travelling allowance paid or payable in accordance with that first mentioned sub-regulation in respect of the fourth day of July, 1963, or any subsequent day.

a ) by omitting from paragraphs (a ) and (b )of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Five shillings and sixpence” (wherever occurring) and inserting in their stead the words “Seven shillings and sixpence”; and(
b )by omitting from paragraph (c ) of sub-regulation (2.) the words “Nine shillings” and inserting in their stead the words “Ten shillings”.
(2.) The rates of meal allowance specified in regulation 98 of the Military Financial Regulations, as amended by the last preceding sub-regulation, apply to meal allowance paid or payable in accordance with that regulation in respect of travel on the twenty-fifth day of June, 1963, or any subsequent day.
“(2a.) The rate of pay of a member serving in the Papua and New Guinea Volunteer Rifles, being a member of the rank of sergeant or lower rank, is the rate per day specified in relation to his rank in Table 3a.”.
“178a.—(1.) An allowance, called ‘expatriate allowance’, is payable subject to such conditions as the Military Board determines, to a member serving in the Papua and New Guinea Volunteer Rifles whose rank is specified in Table 3a in the Third Schedule to these Regulations and who is included in a class of such members determined by the Military Board to be a class to which this regulation applies.
“(2.) The rate per day at which expatriate allowance is payable to a member under the last preceding sub-regulation is an amount equal to the amount by which the rate specified in relation to the rank of the member in Table 2 in the Third Schedule to these Regulations exceeds the rate specified in relation to the like rank in Table 3a in that Schedule.”.

(2.) The Third Schedule to the Military Financial Regulations is amended by inserting after Table 3 the following table:—
