(2) Regulation 9 of the Military Financial (Pacific Islanders) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (1a).
(3) Regulation 9 of the Military Financial (Pacific Islanders) Regulations is amended by inserting in sub-regulation (3g) after the words “ for the purpose of this regulation ” the words “ or who is an apprentice ”.
(4) Regulation 9 of the Military Financial (Pacific Islanders) Regulations is amended by omitting sub-regulation (4).
“ 15a. An allowance, called ‘ command allowance ’, is payable at the rate of $1.26 a day to an officer who—
(a) holds the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel; and
(b) holds the post of—
(i) Commanding Officer, 1st Battalion, Pacific Islands Regiment;
(ii) Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, Pacific Islands Regiment;
(iii) Commanding Officer, Murray Barracks Area, Boroko;
(iv) Commanding Officer, Papua New Guinea Defence Force Training Depot, Goldie River; or
(v) Commandant, Joint Service College of Papua New Guinea.”.
(2) The amendments effected by sub-regulations 1 (2), (3) and (4) shall be deemed to have come into operation on 4 July 1974.
