An Act to authorize contribution towards the

support of the Imperial Forces in New South

Wales. [19th May, 1865.]

BE i t enacted by t h e Queen ' s Mos t Exce l len t Majesty by and wi th t h e advice and consent of t h e Legislat ive Council a n d Legislat ive

Assembly of N e w South Wales in P a r l i a m e n t assembled and by the

au thor i ty of t h e same as follows :—

1. There shall be g ran ted and paid to H e r Majesty from the

Consolidated R e v e n u e F u n d b y way of year ly cont r ibu t ion towards

t he support of H e r Majesty 's Military Forces on service wi th in th is Colony a sum of money a t t he r a t e of forty pounds by t h e year for every officer and soldier of H e r Majes ty ' s I n f an t ry on service in t h e Colony n o t exceeding in any one year unless as hereinafter provided th ree h u n d r e d and fifty-nine officers and soldiers calculated upon the average of t h e usua l m o n t h l y r e tu rns and a sum of money no t exceeding fifty-five pounds by t h e year for every officer and soldier of H e r Majes ty ' s Artillery on service in t h e Colony no t exceeding in any one year unless as hereinaf ter provided two h u n d r e d and twelve officers

and soldiers Provided t h a t for every addi t ional officer or soldier of

such I n f a n t r y or Ar t i l l e ry above t h e n u m b e r aforesaid on service

wi th in t he Colony—at t h e requis i t ion or w i t h t h e consent of t h e Governor and Execu t ive Counc i l—the ra te shall be fifty-five pounds

by t h e	year .
2. This Act m a y be cited as t h e " Mil i ta ry Cont r ibu t ion Ac t
of	1 8 6 5 . "
