Migration (Review) Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Migration Act 1958.

1.   Commencement

1.1   These Regulations commence on 1 May 1992.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Migration (Review) Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Regulation 8j (Time limits)

3.1   Omit “primary”.

4.   Regulation 21 (Individuals and organisations entitled to apply for review)

4.1   Subregulation 21 (5):

After item 3 in the table, insert:

“3a close family visitor (short stay) a close relative who is an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident”.

5.   Schedule (Visas and entry permits to which internal review is applicable)

5.1   Part 2:

After item 26, insert:

“26a close family visitor (short stay)”.
