I, PETER JOHN HOLLINGWORTH, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Migration Act 1958.

1Name of Regulations

 These Regulations are the Migration (Republic of Sudan — United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 1054) Repeal Regulations 2002.

2Commencement

 These Regulations commence on 1 March 2002.

3Migration (Republic of Sudan — United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 1054) Regulations 1996 — repeal

 The following Statutory Rules are repealed:

 · 1996 No. 153

 · 1999 No. 226.

4Transitional

 The Statutory Rules mentioned in regulation 3 do not apply in relation to an application for a visa:

  • (a)

    made, but not finally determined (within the meaning of subsection 5 (9) of the Migration Act 1958), before 1 March 2002; or

  • (b)

    made on or after 1 March 2002.
