These Regulations commence on 1 November 1999.
Schedule 1 amends the Migration (Republic of Sudan — United Nations Security Council Resolution No. 1054) Regulations.

4 Special criteria for grant of visas

(3) An applicant meets the requirements of this subregulation if:
(a) the applicant is:
(i) a member, or an official, of the Government of Sudan; or
(ii) a member of the armed forces of Sudan; and
(b) the Minister is satisfied that there are compelling reasons to grant the visa to the applicant.
