Migration Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Migration Act 1958.

1.   Commencement

1.1  These Regulations commence on 1 July 1996.

2.   Amendment

2.1   The Migration Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

3.   Schedule 2, Part 435 (Sri Lankan)

3.1   After clause 435.212, insert:

“435.213 The applicant did not enter Australia after 31 July 1996.”.

3.2   Clause 435.214:

Omit the clause, substitute:

“435.214 The applicant is not the holder of a visa (other than a Subclass 435 visa) having effect on or after 31 July 1997.”.

3.3   Clause 435.511:

Omit the clause, substitute:

“435.511 Temporary visa permitting the holder to travel to, enter and remain in Australia until 31 July 1997.”.

4.   Schedule 2, Part 443 (Citizens of Former Yugoslavia)

4.1   After clause 443.212, insert:

“443.213 The applicant did not enter Australia after 31 July 1996.”.

4.2   Clause 443.214:

Omit the clause, substitute:

“443.214 The applicant is not the holder of a visa (other than a Subclass 443 visa) having effect on or after 31 July 1997.”.

4.3   Clause 443.511:

Omit the clause, substitute:

“443.511 Temporary visa permitting the holder to travel to, enter and remain in Australia until 31 July 1997.”.
