Migration Regulations2 (Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Migration Act 1958.

Commencement

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 November 1986.

2. After regulation 29d of the Migration Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Refund of fees

“29e. Where a fee is paid by a person, whether before or after the commencement of this regulation, in respect of an application for an entry permit, a visa or a return endorsement and the application is, for any reason, unnecessary or is made as a result of a mistake made by the person or the Department, the person is entitled to a refund of an amount equal to the amount of the fee so paid.”.
