STATES AND TERRITORIES WITH ENGLISH LANGUAGE TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS

(REGULATIONS 134.222C(2)(a), 139.226(b), 496.226(b), 863.226(b) AND 882.225(b))

I, KEVIN ANDREWS, Acting Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, acting under regulation 1.17 and paragraphs 134.222C(2)(a), 139.226(b), 496.226(b), 863.226(b) and 882.225(b) of Schedule 2 to the Migration Regulations 1994 (“the Regulations”):

1. REVOKE Instrument number IMMI 05/098 specifying States or Territories in which arrangements are established for suitable English-language training made for the purposes of paragraphs 134.222C(2)(a), 139.226(b), 863.226(b) and 882.225(b) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations and signed on 15 December 2005;

1. SPECIFY New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory, as States or Territories in which arrangements are established for suitable English-language training for visa applicants for the purposes of paragraphs 139.226(b), 496.226(b), 863.226(b) and 882.225(b) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations; AND

1. SPECIFY South Australia, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory, as States or Territories in which arrangements are established for suitable English-language training for visa applicants for the purposes of paragraph 134.222C(2)(a) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations.

This Instrument, IMMI 06/048, commences on 1 July 2006.
