PERSONS WHO MAY APPLY FOR A WORKING HOLIDAY MAKER VISA

(REGULATION 1225(3)(b)(i) and (ii))

I, JOHN COBB, Acting Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, acting under regulation 1.17 and paragraph 1225(3)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):

1.REVOKE the Instrument signed on 28 June 2005 specifying classes of persons for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations, and the Instrument signed on 28 June 2005 for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(b) of Schedule 2 to the Regulations;

2.SPECIFY as a class of persons for the purposes of subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(i) each person holding the kind of passport specified in column 2 of Schedule A, subject to satisfying any conditions in column 3 of Schedule A for passports of that kind; AND

3.SPECIFY as a class of persons for the purposes of subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(ii) each person holding the kind of passport specified in column 2 of Schedule B, subject to satisfying any conditions in column 3 of Schedule B for passports of that kind, and subject to the person lodging their application in the foreign country specified in column 4 of Schedule B.

This notice has effect from 1 November 2005.

[NOTE 1:     Regulation 1.17 provides that the Minister may, by notice published in the Gazette, specify matters required by individual provisions of the Regulations to be specified for the purposes of those provisions.

NOTE 2: Subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations provides that the Minister may specify in a Gazette Notice a class of persons who may apply for a Working Holiday Maker visa in any foreign country.

NOTE 3: Subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(ii) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations provides that the Minister may specify in a Gazette Notice a class of persons who may apply for a Working Holiday Maker visa, however the application may only be made in a specified foreign country.]

11	The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland	Passport must indicate that the applicant’s nationality is British Citizen
12	Estonia	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Estonia
13	Germany	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Germany
