SPECIFICATION OF PASSPORTS FOR THE PURPOSES OF PARAGRAPH 417.211(3)(a) OF THE MIGRATION REGULATIONS 1994

I, AMANDA VANSTONE, Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, acting under regulation 1.17 and paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’), hereby:

1. REVOKE all existing notices specifying passports for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of the Regulations; AND

2. SPECIFY the passports listed below for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of the Regulations:

Belgium Italy
Canada Norway
Denmark Sweden
Estonia The Netherlands
Finland The Republic of Ireland
France The United Kingdom

This notice has effect on publication.

[NOTE 1: Regulation 1.17 provides that the Minister may, by notice published in the Gazette, specify matters required by individual provisions of the Regulations to be specified for the purposes of those provisions.

NOTE 2: Subclause 417.211(3) of the Regulations relevantly provides that, if the applicant holds a valid passport of a kind specified in a Gazette Notice for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a), the application may be made in any foreign country.]
