CLASS OF PERSONS

(SUBPARAGRAPH 1225(3)(b)(i))

I, CHRIS EVANS, Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, acting under paragraph 1225(3)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’):

1. REVOKE the Instrument number IMMI 05/088 signed on 25 October 2005 specifying classes of persons and foreign countries for the purposes of paragraph 1225(3)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations; AND

1. SPECIFY as a class of persons for the purposes of subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(i) each person holding the kind of passport specified in column 2 of the Schedule, subject to satisfying any conditions in column 3 of the Schedule for passports of that kind.

This Instrument, number IMMI 09/008, commences on 15 May 2009.

[NOTE: Subparagraph 1225(3)(b)(i) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations provides that the Minister may specify in an instrument in writing a class of persons who may apply for a Working Holiday (Temporary) (Class TZ) visa in any foreign country.]

10	The Republic of Ireland	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Republic of Ireland
11	The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland	Passport must indicate that the applicant’s nationality is British Citizen or British National (Overseas)
12	Estonia	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Estonia
13	Germany	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Germany
14	Japan	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Japan
15	Malta	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Malta
16	Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China	Nil
17	The Republic of Cyprus	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Republic of Cyprus
18	The Republic of Korea	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Republic of Korea
19	Passports issued by the authorities of Taiwan	Passport must not purport to be an official or diplomatic passport
