SPECIFICATION OF CLASS OF PERSONS WHO MAY APPLY IN ANY FOREIGN COUNTRY FOR A WORKING HOLIDAY VISA

I, AMANDA VANSTONE, Minister for Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, acting under regulation 1.17 and paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of Schedule 2 of the Migration Regulations 1994 (‘the Regulations’), hereby: 

1. REVOKE the Gazette Notice signed on 12 August 2004 specifying passports for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of Schedule 2 of the Regulations; AND

1. SPECIFY as a class of persons for the purposes of paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of Schedule 2 of the Regulations, each person holding the kind of passport specified in column 2 of Schedule A, subject to satisfying the conditions, if any, in column 3 of Schedule A for passports of that kind.

This notice has effect from 1 July 2005.

[NOTE 1:         Regulation 1.17 provides that the Minister may, by notice published in the Gazette, specify matters required by individual provisions of the Regulations to be specified for the purposes of those provisions.

NOTE 2: Paragraph 417.211(3)(a) of Schedule 2 of the Regulations, provides that to make an application for a Working Holiday visa the applicant is a member of a class of persons, specified by Gazette Notice, and the application may be made in any foreign country.]

6	Italy	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Italy
7	Norway	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Norway
8	Sweden	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Sweden
9	The Netherlands	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of The Netherlands
10	The Republic of Ireland	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of the Republic of Ireland
11	The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland	Passport must indicate that the applicant’s nationality is British Citizen
12	Estonia	Passport must indicate that the applicant is a national of Estonia
