1  Name

(1)This instrument is the Migration (LIN 21/002: Places and Currencies for Paying of Fees) Instrument 2021.

(2)This instrument may be cited as LIN 21/002.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 1 January 2021.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under paragraphs 5.36(1)(a) and (b) of the Migration Regulations 1994.

4  Definitions

Note 1:       foreign country has the meaning as defined in section 2B of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901.

Note 2:       visa application charge has the meaning as defined in subsection 5(1) of the Migration Act 1958.

Note 3:       fee has the same meaning as in subregulation 5.36(4) of the Regulations.

In this instrument:

Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994.

VAC means visa application charge.

5  Schedules

The instrument specified in Schedule 2 to this instrument is repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

6  Places and currencies for payment of VAC, and fees

For the purposes of subregulation 5.36(1) of the Regulations:

(a)     each place mentioned for an item in Column 1 of the table in Schedule 1 is specified; and

(b)     the currency mentioned in Column 2 in the table in Schedule 1 for that item is specified.
