Migration Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 2008

I, QUENTIN BRYCE, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and under items 2, 6 and 7 of the table in subsection 2 (1) of the Migration Legislation Amendment Act (No. 1) 2008:

(a)   fix 7 October 2008 as the day on which items 3 to 5 and 14 of Schedule 5 to that Act commence; and

(b)   fix 27 October 2008 as the day on which Schedule 1 to that Act commences; and

(c)   fix 27 October 2008 as the day on which items 1 to 4 and subitems 6 (1) and (2) of Schedule 4 to that Act commence.
