Part 1 – Preliminary

1  Name

(1)     This instrument is the Migration (IMMI 18/063: Payment of Visa Application Charges and Fees in Foreign Currencies) Instrument 2018.

(2)     This instrument may be sited as IMMI 18/063.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 1 July 2018.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under paragraph 5.36(1A)(a) of the Migration Regulations 1994.

4  Definitions

Note:              A number of expressions used in this instrument are defined in the Act and the
   Regulations.

In this instrument:

Act means the Migration Act 1957.

ISO means International Organization for Standardization

Regulations means the Migration Regulations 1994.

5  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Part 2 – Foreign Currencies

6  Payment of Visa Application Charges and Fees in Foreign Currencies

For paragraph 5.36(1A)(a) of the Regulations, the table in Schedule 1 specifies:

(a)  the name of the currency in Column A with that currency’s corresponding ISO code in Column B; and

(b)  the corresponding Exchange Rate for the currency specified in paragraph (a), in Column C.
