Part 1 – Preliminary

1  Name

(1)   This instrument is the Migration (IMMI 17/016:  Arrangements for Other Family Visa Applications and New Zealand (Family Relationship) Visa Applications Instrument 2017.

(2)   This instrument may be cited as IMMI 17/016.

2  Commencement

This instrument commences on 20 February 2017.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under subregulation 2.07(5) of the Regulations, and items 1123A, 1123B and 1214BA of Schedule 1 to the Regulations.

4  Definitions

In this instrument:

Regulations  means the Migration Regulations 1994.

5  Schedules

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.

Part 2 - Arrangements for visa applications

6   Making an application — Other Family (Migrant) (Class BO) visa

(1)  For subitem 1123A(1) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the approved form is specified in Column B of the relevant row in the table in Schedule 1 to this Instrument.

(2)  For paragraph 1123A(3)(a) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the relevant place and manner for making an application is specified in Column C in the table in Schedule 1 to this Instrument.

7  Making an application— Other Family (Residence) (Class BU) visa

(1)  For subitem 1123B(1) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the approved form is specified in Column B of the relevant row in the table in Schedule 2 to this Instrument.

(2)  For paragraph 1123B(3)(a) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the relevant place and manner for making an application is specified in Column C in the table in Schedule 2 to this Instrument.

8  Making an application — New Zealand (Family Relationship) (Temporary) (Class UP) visa

(1)For subitem 1214BA(1) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, for each class of applicant specified in Column B of the table in Schedule 3 to this Instrument.

(2) For paragraph 1214BA(3)(a) of Schedule 1 to the Regulations, the relevant place and manner for making an application is specified in Column C in the table in Schedule 3 to this Instrument.
