Migration
(Angola—United Nations Security Council Resolutions) Regulations
I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with
the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations
under the Migration Act 1958.

Citation
1. These Regulations may be cited as the
Migration (Angola—United Nations Security Council Resolutions) Regulations.

Definitions
2. In these Regulations:
“Act” means the Migration Act 1958;
“Committee” means the Committee established under United Nations
Security Council Resolution 864 (1993).
Application
3.These Regulations apply in addition to,
and despite any provision to the contrary in, any other Regulations under the Act.
Special criterion for grant of visa
4.(1) The
criterion mentioned in subregulation (2) is applicable (at the time of
decision) to an applicant for a visa of any class.
(2) The applicant must not be a person who is
designated by the Committee as a senior official, or an adult member of the
immediate family of a senior official, of the União Nacional para a
Independência Total de Angola (UNITA).
(3) However, this regulation does not apply if
the Minister is satisfied that:
Cancellation of visa
5. For paragraph 116 (1) (g) of the
Act, the fact that the holder of a visa is a person to whom regulation 4
applies is a prescribed ground for cancelling a visa.
