This instrument is the Migration Amendment (Subclass 500 Visas) Regulations 2024.

    Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

Clause 500.212 of Schedule 2

Omit “because”.

Paragraph 500.212(a) of Schedule 2

Omit “the applicant intends genuinely to stay in Australia temporarily,”.

Subparagraph 500.212(a)(iv) of Schedule 2

Repeal the subparagraph.

Paragraph 500.212(b) of Schedule 2

Before “the applicant intends”, insert “because”.

Before “of any other”, insert “because”.
