1Name

This instrument is the Migration Amendment (Biosecurity Contravention) Regulations 2023.

2Commencement

1. (1)

   Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under the Migration Act 1958.

12001Operation of amendment

The amendment made by Schedule 1 to the Migration Amendment (Biosecurity Contravention) Regulations 2023 applies in relation to the cancellation of a visa if:

1. (a)

   the visa was granted before, on or after the commencement of that Schedule; and

2. (b)

   the contravention occurs on or after that commencement.
